Class Rule
- All Implemented Interfaces:
- Serializable,- SdkPojo,- ToCopyableBuilder<Rule.Builder,- Rule>
This is AWS WAF Classic documentation. For more information, see AWS WAF Classic in the developer guide.
For the latest version of AWS WAF, use the AWS WAFV2 API and see the AWS WAF Developer Guide. With the latest version, AWS WAF has a single set of endpoints for regional and global use.
A combination of ByteMatchSet, IPSet, and/or SqlInjectionMatchSet objects that identify the web
requests that you want to allow, block, or count. For example, you might create a Rule that includes the
 following predicates:

-
An IPSetthat causes AWS WAF to search for web requests that originate from the IP address192.0.2.44
-
A ByteMatchSetthat causes AWS WAF to search for web requests for which the value of theUser-Agentheader isBadBot.
To match the settings in this Rule, a request must originate from 192.0.2.44 AND include a
User-Agent header for which the value is BadBot.

Method Details-
ruleIdA unique identifier for a Rule. You useRuleIdto get more information about aRule(see GetRule), update aRule(see UpdateRule), insert aRuleinto aWebACLor delete a one from aWebACL(see UpdateWebACL), or delete aRulefrom AWS WAF (see DeleteRule).RuleIdis returned by CreateRule and by ListRules.- Returns:
- A unique identifier for a Rule. You useRuleIdto get more information about aRule(see GetRule), update aRule(see UpdateRule), insert aRuleinto aWebACLor delete a one from aWebACL(see UpdateWebACL), or delete aRulefrom AWS WAF (see DeleteRule).RuleIdis returned by CreateRule and by ListRules.

-
nameThe friendly name or description for the Rule. You can't change the name of aRuleafter you create it.- Returns:
- The friendly name or description for the Rule. You can't change the name of aRuleafter you create it.

-
metricNameA friendly name or description for the metrics for this Rule. The name can contain only alphanumeric characters (A-Z, a-z, 0-9), with maximum length 128 and minimum length one. It can't contain whitespace or metric names reserved for AWS WAF, including "All" and "Default_Action." You can't changeMetricNameafter you create theRule.- Returns:

-
hasPredicatespublic final boolean hasPredicates()For responses, this returns true if the service returned a value for the Predicates property. This DOES NOT check that the value is non-empty (for which, you should check theisEmpty()method on the property). This is useful because the SDK will never return a null collection or map, but you may need to differentiate between the service returning nothing (or null) and the service returning an empty collection or map. For requests, this returns true if a value for the property was specified in the request builder, and false if a value was not specified.
-
predicatesThe Predicatesobject contains onePredicateelement for each ByteMatchSet, IPSet, or SqlInjectionMatchSet object that you want to include in aRule.Attempts to modify the collection returned by this method will result in an UnsupportedOperationException. This method will never return null. If you would like to know whether the service returned this field (so that you can differentiate between null and empty), you can use the hasPredicates()method.- Returns:
- The Predicatesobject contains onePredicateelement for each ByteMatchSet, IPSet, or SqlInjectionMatchSet object that you want to include in aRule.

-
toBuilderDescription copied from interface:ToCopyableBuilderTake this object and create a builder that contains all of the current property values of this object.- Specified by:
- toBuilderin interface- ToCopyableBuilder<Rule.Builder,- Rule>
- Returns:
- a builder for type T

-

-
hashCode
-
equals
-
equalsBySdkFieldsDescription copied from interface:SdkPojoIndicates whether some other object is "equal to" this one by SDK fields. An SDK field is a modeled, non-inherited field in anSdkPojoclass, and is generated based on a service model. If an SdkPojoclass does not have any inherited fields, equalsBySdkFieldsandequalsare essentially the same.- Specified by:
- equalsBySdkFieldsin interface- SdkPojo
- Parameters:
- obj- the object to be compared with
- Returns:
- true if the other object equals to this object by sdk fields, false otherwise.

-

-
sdkFieldNameToField- Specified by:
- sdkFieldNameToFieldin interface- SdkPojo
- Returns:
- The mapping between the field name and its corresponding field.
